Recent reports from Government have seen some moves forward and we expect there to be more public sector cybersecurity initiatives over coming months.

In surveys that we ran in Winter 2019/20 run, we have found an uncomfortable percentage of public sector entities where basic cybersecurity standards are not being met. This has to change.

As consumers, we share our payments and address data with local councils to pay for tax or recycling collections. We share wellbeing data with the NHS that needs to be kept private. We report crimes over the internet, and give our contact details. Our engagements with the public sector are both frequent and highly confidential and personal.

Over recent months, Trustify has found dozens of examples where each of these services have been open to being intercepted and the data used by criminals. It is time for this to change, which is why we have been engaging with the heads of national security in Government and through our positions on the relevant Business In The Community committees.

Smaller public bodies are almost more at risk as their digital real estate does not get the same level of attention and care as some of the larger public bodies. Thankfully, our services scale to size and so we work out of the box for many of your needs and can be up and running within minutes.
